  1. Abbie, you have discovered something that I was not thinking about – the differences between the senses that are used in “reading” a book. I use my Merlin CCTV to very slowly read a book. If I am writing about a book, I read it several times, and after the first read-through, I take lots of notes as I am reading. I don’t listen to books that are recorded. I’ve never read a book using Kindle or Smashwords, etc. I rarely read using the NLS machine any longer.

    • I actually read poetry in Braille unless I can find a recording of a human narrator reading it. Text-to-speech doesn’t do it justice.

The Kindle app on my iPhone displys one page at a time and usually one poem per page. So, like you, I can concentrate on one poem at a time.

I’m looking forward to reading Carol Farnsworth’s new book this way. I recently discovered that on my iPhone, I can ask Siri to have ChatGPT describe images, and I think it does a pretty good job. Since Carol’s book has both poetry and artwork, I’ll be able to fully appreciate everything. I’ll review Carol’s book on my blog after I read it.

  2. I read and reviewed Sally’s book on my blog after it first came out. Having read the book in Kindle, I wasn’t aware of how the poems were situated on the page. Learning about that was interesting. As always, thank you for sharing the link to my blog.
