_My Thoughts
Quality Time
What comes to mind when you hear this phrase, Quality Time?
Here is a definition I would include as a feature and regard as a characteristic or inherent part of someone or something.
Quality.
The WORD came to the forefront of my thoughts this week as I was writing and taking care of my daily business. I’ve spent all week thinking about QUALITY, and QUALITY TIME.
First, I heard that familiar inner voice say, “Quality.”
I was working in my library.
This word appeared quietly. Yet was bold, like a person entering the room as it captures my attention. Quality.
I realized I was hearing this word in my spirit so I said it aloud several times. This word had a remarkable presence, and I stopped what I was doing to just consider it for a while. I’ve come to realize that this is a moment when the Holy Spirit quietly, softly, speaks to me. As a part of the Holy Trinity, of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I recognized his voice as He spoke one word to me.
The Holy Spirit is a presence, a person, and he has feelings and wants to be in our daily life,. He likes to have conversations with us. And, he loves our companionship. He is our best friend, and our helper. I’ve come to understand Him so much more as I read the Bible and see Him at work over the ages of time, in the lives of those who seek Him. He is ever present. He is for all people, at all times, from throughout the history of humanity. From the beginning,, he was present at our creation.
I’ve also learned that being in His presence is always a teaching moment. I want to stop, and pay attention, and listen slowly. Yes, I am learning how to listen slowly. For most of our years of working in education, we have been on a rapidly moving treadmill that barely slows down for a breath of fresh air, most of our lives.
Eventually, if we are teachable, we begin to realize that there is someone who desires our attention, and we must slow down, in order to hear His voice.
I am a teacher who is teachable. I am a life-long learner, with the will to listen, and learn, every day.
Often, a person, a place, or an activity will come so strongly into my thoughts, and I know instantly this is important – it is a High Priority that has just entered into my present moment. Often, it comes to me in a way that I know someone needs prayer, and I immediately begin to speak that person’s name and to pray for them. Other times, this comes as an image for me to write about, or to create as an artwork. But they come. And they come for a reason. Over the decades of life, they come more rapidly with age.
I’m learning to pay attention to the Holy Spirit as he speaks to me in that still small voice that comes to teach us, guide us and rescue us from the daily grind of life in the fast lane and the cluttering of the mind at times. I’m learning to be aware. This is a slow process, to learn to go slower, to rest more, to read more carefully and slowly, and to speak less but listen more slowly.
Does this happen to you, also?
A word will just appear in our mind. It seems to speak to us so clearly sometimes.
A single, solitary word can take us by surprise when we least expect it.
I began to focus on waiting and listening. I receive blessings each day.
I encounter new discoveries and gratitude guides the activities. I can say that the quality of life has changed as I quietly listen more slowly. I learned that the way was provided for us before we were born.

My Poem, Quality Time
Quality Time
There is a way, that leads to life.
Who are you seeking?
The gate is small and hidden
The path is narrow and straight.
Just one path leads to the Father
I walk behind Jesus as he clears the way
I pass through
In Jesus we live and move and have our being.
He is the way maker, there is no other.
The answer to all of your questions,
If you seek Him, he will be there for you.
Joy comes in the morning.
As you seek Him.
Listen slowly.
He will find you
in the Quality time.
_Scripture
This scripture teaches us the importance of producing high quality work in everything we do.
The Holy Spirit enables us to pursue excellence, wisdom, and integrity as we serve God
Daniel 6:3,
3 Now Daniel so distinguished himself among the administrators and the satraps by his exceptional qualities that the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
However, we do find “excellence” and “best,” and there are many references in the Bible that reveal the essence of “quality.”

_Daily Action Plan
1_Begin to read a book that is considered excellent, or best. Choose a classic that has passed the test of time through the ages.
Perhaps it might be a book read long ago and you would like to come back to again. I have several books on my mind that I read long ago, and I want to visit them again to see what is there that I missed or have forgotten.
2. Each day, spend some time reading the Bible. Take it nice and slow, and don’t hesitate to read it over and over again. You will see something new every time you read a chapter or even a verse. As you discipline yourself to read, you will begin to see the quality of the people who are there on the pages. Quality Time.
