A Poem From the Professor’s Journal
Lynda McKinney Lambert
for the first
along the banks of
dull morning light
gold-plated Ginkgo leaves
In this poem, “first snow,” readers get a private perspective of winter time in Western Pennsylvania. I have lived my entire life here. This poem reflects the anticipation of the first snowfall of the season.

“first snow” is the opening poem of my chapbook, ‘first snow” published by Finishing Line Press, January 1, 2019.
“first snow” is a collection of thirty wintry-themed snapshots;
a passage between the external world and the world within;
a destination or place;
an abode where body, mind and spirit synchronize with natural elements.
