_My Thoughts
As I write this post, I can hear sounds of lively sparrows chatting outside my window. Bird sounds mingle with the flowing creek, just below the ridge. And, here in my office, three of my cats are crowded at the open window, watching it all this morning. The sounds of nature remind me that I have Hope, every day.
Spinning is a noun that I think defines my thoughts today.
I’ll focus on this word for today’s article on Blessing.
It’s a useful word to describe my Everyday WORK Assignments, poems, and art activities.
Well, I also like these two nouns:
Twirling, and Swirling.
Do you often feel like you are spinning in circles?
I sure do!
Sometimes, I just stop and have a serious look at what I am doing, what I am not doing, and try to survey my surroundings to get a grip on where I am at the moment, where I wanted to be, and the reality of my ways at arriving at whatever I am trying to accomplish. At times, if feels like I work in several worlds at the same time.
For the past few weeks, I’ve been obsessed with finding a poem. I wanted to put it into one of the sections I am working on, As I develop a new book.
The poem I was searching for is
“Philosophy of a Cool Water Daydream.”
Do you think I could put my fingers on this poem?
Did I find it?
I am happy to say, YES!
I searched my files, but keeping files in good order gets neglected, and I lose things.
After lots of time searching, a bright idea came to me. I decided to do a Google Search, by putting in the title of the poem, and my name. It worked!
There was my poem, in a blog post that I forgot I published.
I’ve added the poem to my draft. I am sure there will be another poem or two that I’ll be searching for as I continue creating the book draft.
“Faith is the substance of things hoped for,
evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
I’ve learned through the years that everyone has an assignment from God. Though, often we are not aware of it for a long time. Discovering our assignment may take years before we recognize what our assignment is . I am speaking about our divine assignment. Not goals we have set or lists of things we want to do, or anything we have been plotting out for a “bucket list.”
__Daily Action Plan
What do you hope for?
Write down your thoughts about what you hope for, and ask God to show you the things that are unseen in the days to come.
__Scripture
Hebrews 11-1
This my favorite Bible verse that I speak aloud to my Father, God, each morning. I read Hebrews 11:1, every morning.
I remind Him of his promise to be with us even when we cannot see his presence for a while.
__The Missing/Found Poem:
Philosophy for a Cool Water Daydream
In 1929 our house was built on dreams
I invite you to visit my favorite place
walk up the stairway
turn left
luminous light flows through
stained-glass window
spectrum of colors shimmering
red – blue – crystal – green
shifting translucent planes
light scent of Eucalyptus
rustic white shelves display
remembrances of ancestors
Aunt Bettie’s silent round silver powder
music box wound too tight
Mom’s vintage powder compact
one of her treasures
empty aqua blue glass bottles
my favorite Cool Water perfume
my tiny marble pot of Patchouli oil.
Now, the main attraction takes the lead
curvaceous porcelain-clad bath tup
highlight on four clawed feet
relaxing – dreaming – praying
private prayers of comfort and healing
are spoken aloud
beneath the gentle abstract
acrylic painting on canvas
double framed in pink and mauve
Plastered terracotta walls
ceiling of soft willow green
our favorite Puerto Rico hues
radiant tropical yellow doors
greenish blue towels give comfort
water streams over my bare feet
Cool Water on a hot summer day
gushing from the age-worn faucet
swirling soap bubbles soothe the soul
my philosophy for a cool water daydream

Story Behind the Poem:
I received the July Prompt for my little group of poets. We are called The Carousel Poets. Six of us took a workshop together one year ago. When the 4-week workshop ended, we decided we would continue working together and challenging ourselves once a month with a prompt for an assignment.
The Prompt: Write a poem that describes a room in your home, without naming that room in the poem.
Or, if you prefer, write about an object in your home, without naming the object in the poem.
My BONUS:
This week I received a notice that every poet loves to receive.
Three of my poems are published in the Fall/Winter Edition of
Magnets and Ladders: Writers with Disabilities, Inc.

How I Found HOPEFULNESS in Unexpected Changes:
I discovered a new life after sudden sight loss. For the next two years, I learned to see the world and my place in it in an entirely new way. I completed training for Personal Adjustment to Blindness, It took two years of training and lots of challenging work to learn to read and write using adaptive technologies for the blind. Ad the months went by, God was showing me that my creative life would continue,, but in some new ways.
I began to write Divinely inspired life lessons
New experiences and God-directed Opportunities
New DISCOVERIES to share with the world
A NEW SEASON on the Narrow Path with Jesus.
