Nature and Spring: 2 Poems –
March 29, 2026
Welcome to the final weekend in March
Just two more days until we flip that calendar page once again, to begin the first day of April. What are you doing on this final 2-days of March? It’s been a tricky month with lots of temperature ups and downs, rain storms, high winds, and even warm sunshine. In other words, it is a typical March in Western Pennsylvania. By the end of the month we are all looking for more sunny days, outdoor time, and planning gardens. However, western Pennsylvania loves to play April tricks, and it’s quite common for some freezing nights and freezing rains during that month, as well.
Let’s look at some nature poems, since we all have our minds set forward to the beginnings of the planting season, and the celebration of Easter at the beginning of April.
Nature poetry describes the details of the season.
I cannot write a nature poem without considering the Creator of all the nature in this world. We can observe the wondrous beauty and complexity of a spring flower rising up from the cold ground each spring.
Consider the Master Artist who designed and created glorious flowers and all the surrounding natural life that is in the process of growing right now.
To forget the divine connection of nature and God is similar to discussing a work of art, without mentioning or knowing who the artist is that created the artwork. It’s just not possible to look at anything in nature, without being reminded of God who created every detail of what we see, touch, and cherish in nature.
Below: Two poems reflect on Nature and Spring
The first poem was created to fit onto a post card, and artwork was created for the other side of the post card. Carol Farnsworth lives in Michigan and was my partner in this year-long project. Each day we mailed a post card to each other via the US Postal System.
The second poem is one that has been published several times. It shows the activities of spring when all animals and birds begin preparations for the new season.

Nature comes alive in spring:
by Lynda Lambert
final snowfall
advises slow-moving changes
floating, spiraling, dancing
whispering progression
hardy wet quiescent branches
undressed false acacia
fast-growing tree
black locust takes
a long nap
in rural woodlands
anticipating sunshine
after final snowfall
soft warm rain, new growth
fragrant clusters swagger
spring blossoms flourish
white, pink, or purple attire
welcome the new season of
fanfare and ballyhoo.

Scripture:
The Bible has many passages about NATURE. Jesus often spoke of nature in his conversations with people through parables and examples.
We may look at nature and think of how God takes care of every aspect in the natural world. We are not to be worried or anxious about anything for our God will take care of us in all circumstances and times in our life.
Jesus told his disciples to consider the grass and flowers in the fields. They do not worry about anything because the Father takes care of them all. We are told that anxiety is not from God, and we are to be “anxious about nothing.” Let us look at the flowers this spring, and remember that God takes care of them and will also take care of us.
Matthew 27 – 30
27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you,
Daily Action Plan
1. Listen for some bird songs Here
2. Can you identify some birds that you hear in your own yard?
3. Read Matthew, Chapter 6 in the Holy Bible for a comprehensive view of life.

Final Note:
What inspired me to begin writing my Sunday morning posts about BLESSINGS?
In the month of November 2025, I participated in a 21-day Challenge to write three blessings each day. At the end of the 21 days, I wanted to keep writing a blessing for each week and publish it as a blog post every Sunday morning.
Your comments and prayers inspire the best in me.
Let me know if this message is helpful to you.
Thank you for sharing my Sunday Blessings posts with others to encourage them and share the Love of Jesus.
