Lynda’s Journal of Blessings – #742 – Old Friends
Lynda McKinney Lambert - American Artist & AuthorPosted on by Lynda Lambert
Each Sunday I share a blessing.
My blessing this week is honoring Old Friends. To be specific, it is a group of Old Friends, from the Class of 1961, Lincoln High School, Ellwood City, PA. The WOLVERINE is our school mascot. Five generations of my family have attended Lincoln High School
We meet for lunch every month. On Wednesday, we had 19 classmates and everyone was in a festive mood since it’s our Christmas luncheon together.
If you happen to open our school yearbook, The Ellwoodian,” I believe you would have difficulty identifying any of us from those photos. We have all changed a lot over the YEARS.
We talk about old times and silly things we did in high school. Sometimes we talk about teachers who influence our path in life. I mention my love of English literature, because of the brilliant teacher I had – Rev. Mr. Victor Brown. I told classmates that I knew I would be writing books and reading poetry someday. And that is what I did for my career as Professor of Fine Art and Humanities, at Geneva College.
I did not know that my love of literature and art would take me many places in this world, and that at age eighty-two I would still be making art and writing poetry.
What I did not know back then, is that art would become an enormous passion for me, too. But, I’ll save that for another post in the future.
_My Daily Action Plan:
Did you know you can pray for spiritual blessings?
Yes, we can pray to God for His blessings on our life, and on the lives of everyone we pray for.
Each morning in my prayer time, I will pray for Old Friends who God brings to my mind.
Want more to think about?
Today’s Scripture:
Ephesians 1: 2 and 3
Pray for Spiritual BLESSINGS!
2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Praise for Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
Thanks for your visit.
If you begin thinking about an OLD FRIEND today, I hope you will pause and pray for them.
Take some time to LISTEN for the still small voice of God this week
And, please let me know if this message helps you.
