_The Poem_
A Spring Configuration Poem (Acrostic)
Configuration poems
Often look like mountain stones
Next to delicate green ferns
For decades
I pull the weeds from my flower
Garden in the early morning light
Until a soft upwelling
Rain brings the plants
Abundantly to life and I
Think about
Iridescent red tulips beside
Ocean blue Japanese grass that
Never grows more than 10 inches tall
Purple hyacinths blooming
On ordinary spring days
Earthy fragrances
Move closer, take a deep breath
Sniff the sweet -smelling yellow daffodils.
