One_ Puppy pads. My little Doxie-Mix doggy, Miss Dixie Tulip, has accidents – after all, she is 17 years old! The puppy pads help to keep the carpets clean. I put a towel down over each puppy pad, for added protection. It works very well and Miss Dixie Tulip does what she needs to do without and drama.
Two_ Esther McKinney. My Mother went to Heaven 15 years ago on March 3. I wrote a reflection about our relationship for a blog post on The Evergreen Journal. I wrote just a little “slice of life.” about her. Find it Here.
Three_ The freedom I discover as I eliminate many items we collected. I’ve been gathering and passing them along to others to enjoy.
Four_ Learning how to live a life of joy and praise to God during the challenging days of caring for my husband. This journey began 8 years ago when he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The process of learning how to love through the tough and challenging days continues as he passes through various stages of dementia.
Five_ Grown children who stay in touch with us across the miles through phone calls and occasional visits.
Six_My dentist who gave me an appointment for the same day when I called him this morning to say I was having some issues. Thankful for a local doctor who has taken care of our dental needs for many years. Nothing like small-town people who provide their services when needed – with no interference by layers of office workers. I love living in a very small town and doing everything here that I possibly can.
Seven_Make-up – and perfume. I still love to put on some light make-up and a shot of nice perfume. The day I stop wearing make-up and perfume, well, I’ll probably be in serious trouble in some way.
Eight_A visit from my tech specialist – courtesy of the Keystone Blind Association, Lawrence County. She is smart, pleasant, and helpful and I appreciate her so much. Thank you,Jeanne Hink! And, the Keystone Blind Association of Lawrence County.
Nine_ The aide from Veritas’ Hospice who comes 3 mornings a week to care for Bob – so pleasant, loves our pets, and takes good care of my husband. She is here only 1 hour for each visit, but that hour is something he really enjoys and so do I.
Ten_The Evergreen Journal is receiving a lot of visitors since I started writing the weekly posts 9 weeks ago.
YOU – Thanks to all who have dropped in here and left me a comment in the past few weeks. I am reading other lists and just love them. For some, I’ve tried to leave comments, but I cannot get around the Captcha -it is not a blind-friendly program.
If you would like to leave a comment or ask a question – you can do it here. Thank you so much for your visit today.
