“Timing. One Final Gardening Task”

My thoughts this morning are about timing.
WHAT?
There is always a sense of timing that helps motivate me through jobs I’d rather put off for another day.
Today?
By this time in the fall, I am TIRED of GARDENING.
Nevertheless, there is ONE FINAL GARDENING TASK that I can’t ignore.
The reality of TODAY is that tomorrow’s weather prediction is for COLDER DAYS ahead.
OK, that is my MOTIVATION for today’s activities.
WHY?
I have lots of daffodil and tulip bulbs waiting to be planted. Looks like I better get it done today. This is a job that I always drag my feet and try to put off to another day. I don’t know why I do that!
I ordered the bulbs from Holland in April. They arrived the beginning of October because that is the perfect planting time for the bulbs, here in Pennsylvania. The work I will do today to get them into the ground before winter, will be revealed next spring when they all begin blooming.
HOW?
Take the first step:
Walk out to the gardening shed.
Next,
Pick up the shovel and put on the gardening gloves.
Carry the bags of bulbs, here and there, and begin digging the holes to plop in the bulbs. It’s that EASY.
I’ll save some of the bulbs to take to Wurtemburg Cemetery to plant on Bob’s grave another day.
Then, Winter can come and I can know during the frigid days, that beautiful spring flowers will arise and bring joy to all who happen to pass by on River Road, in my little village of Wurtemburg.
That is a life lesson, isn’t it.
We get an idea and a vision forms in our mind.
At that point, we either follow through and begin the baby steps to move in the direction of our vision, or, we don’t.
To motivate myself to go outside, pick up my shovel and bulbs, and begin the planting.
I will HOLD ON to my vision of beautiful flowers in the Spring.
