_My Thoughts
In springtime, I become aware of Wings and movements because the scene outside my home comes alive with a variety of birds searching for the perfect place to build a nest. It’s a busy time, right now, in my prayer garden, and in the surrounding trees and bushes.
I took a little walk about the flower gardens today, too.I bent over to inspect a special little bush I planted last year. It is a unique, Rhododendron-Azalea bush!
I hope it will begin to sprout soon, and I paused to remove the weeds that were coming to live all around it. I walked along the edge of the woods, to see if the young holly bushes survived after the harsh winter. I don’t yet know if they made it through safely, but my heart holds hope that they will be growing as the days become warmer.
Soon, I will put flowers in some hanging baskets. My house has a wrap-around porch that spans across the South-Eastern front and curves into the longer South Western side of the house.. In a couple of weeks there will be ten baskets hanging from graceful black wrought iron hooks, suspended in the breeze and soaking up the sunshine. The potted plants will be a safe place for the tiny house wrens to begin their work of gathering wet moss and creating a hidden nest in the sheltered soil surrounding the flowers. I’ll be able to watch them at work as I sit in one of the old Amish rocking chairs nearby.
Like the protective sheltering flowers in the baskets, I am also aware of the assurance of being protected and safe beneath God’s care as promised in the Holy Bible. There are many reverences to wings in the Bible. I think of wings as a place of shelter, where I am safe and hidden away from anything that would hurt me.
Wings also remind us of the supernatural that we experience as we are protected by the wings of angels, and the presence of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to take up residence inside of us when we commit our life to Jesus. The Holy Spirit will be our protector, and our helper. He is with us forever, and watches over us day and night. He speaks to us in a still small voice, when we are quiet and pay attention to him. I listen for God’s voice to guide me.
Below, I placed a link so you could listen to a song about WINGS .
Listen here.
My home is a haven for birds of all sizes, colors, and songs.
My heart is a haven for joy and happiness, as spring comes alive this month.
This is a little slice of life my life, living with gratitude under the wings of God, our Creator.
_Scripture
I’ve chosen two examples from the Bible that give us a view of the importance of WINGS.
Psalm 91:4
He will shield you with his wings!
They will shelter you. His faithful promises are your armor. “
Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

_Daily Action Plan
1_Spend some time outside today, if you can. Listen to the sounds of birds.
2.Be still. What do you hear when you are quiet and patient? How does it feel?
3_Is there someone in your life that has been the “Wind Beneath your Wings?
Note:
On April 14 I would have celebrated my 61st anniversary of the marriage between Bob and me.
I’ll be thinking of him and I’ll be remembering our years together, raising our five children, and living our lives in western Pennsylvania. I have so much to be thankful for during those years together. We were a match made in Heaven, by a loving God who brought us through all the storms of life, as well as the joys and the milestones. We were truly blessed by God every day of our lives together.
My husband, Bob, was that constant presence in my life from the time we met. I was 15 at that time, and he was 17. We married in 1961. If I would choose one song that would be a theme in our life together it would be the theme of his loving care for me until his death in January 2024.
Perhaps there is someone in YOUR LIFE that would be like the Wings of God, in your life, too.
My article ends today with a beautiful song of thanksgiving for the WINGS we have been shelterd under during our life. If I could sing a song for Bob today, his would be the song that reveals how I feel about him, every day.

A Question?
What inspired me to begin writing my Sunday morning posts about BLESSINGS?
In the month of November 2025, I participated in a 21-day Challenge to write three blessings each day. At the end of the 21 days, I wanted to keep writing a blessing for each week and publish it as a blog post every Sunday morning.
Your comments and prayers inspire the best in me.
Thank you for sharing my Sunday Blessings.
