Lynda’s Journal of Blessings – #734 – Nov. 17

My office is changing today. It will get a facelift with new carpet, and re-organization of space. This will take some time, as I am eliminating these wall units to cut down on clutter.

Strong Young men – A Calm Spirit – Knitting with the Television
Day 17 of the 21-day challenge.
I share 3 blessings each day from my personal life experiences in western Pennsylvania.
Blessing 1: Strong Young Men
I am blessed to open the kitchen door this morning around 10:30 a.m. It is obvious the two young men are here to work, They ask me to take them to each room of the house to verify what carpet will be installed in each room, and stairway. I had selected three different carpet/patterns for the job. The installers wanted to be sure they understood the directions. soon they are bringing in the supplies for doing the work. This is heavy work and I can see why the men are young and very fit to carry the heavy loads of carpeting . Around 3:30 p.m. I wave good-bye as the van pulls out of the driveway.
Now, I go back inside and walk on the new carpeting in my bare feet. It feels like walking on marshmallows – so soft. What a blessing it is to have the new carpet.
Blessing 2: A Calm Spirit
I am thankful that God blessed me with a calm spirit today. I could never have imagined the piles of household belonging stacked high into the dining room downstairs and into my fiber studio upstairs. Beside what seems like an acre of belongings, most of the furniture was taken outside and placed on the front porch by the two men. My job for the next few hours is to stay out of their way. I do my best to keep a low profile as I move about without disturbing the men who are working. I say “Thank you,” to God for He is always with me and at moments like this it is easy to think about doing this alone and without enough sight to know what they are doing. I remain calm and trust God to guide me through the day.
Blessing 3: Knitting with the TV
I am blessed wit an evening of knitting as I watch TV.
All other technological items in the house are not working.
awareness as I discover I have no contact with anyone. I have no CCTV’s, and No computer, no phone. Fortunately, my granddaughter had moved the television just around the corner and into the dining room. I was able to sit on the sofa and see the television as I was knitting.
Everything was disconnected, and the screens all stacked somewhere in the pile of goods in the dining room. In addition, I learned I have no telephone either. There is a pile of cords on the floor in my office, and I have no idea how to connect anything. Even Alexa has nothing to say to guide me. She’s not speaking, either.
