Lynda’s Journal of Blessings – #747
>> Peacefulness <<
BLESSINGS from God arrive every day.
ASK Him for a BLESSING this week.
In November 2025, I participated in a 21-day challenge to write three blessings each day (for 21 days) I began to see blessings in my life every day. Perhaps blessings were always there, but at this time I became aware of them because I was thinking about writing them down. When we can write down important things in our daily life, we can grow significantly in our spiritual walk with God.
This new awareness of daily blessings has become a template for living.
Thus, my awareness has led me to share what I am learning, and receiving. I have discovered that my days are so much better since I began to look forward to those discoveries.
I woke up with one word on my mind – Peacefulness.
In the dark quiet of early morning, I could feel peacefulness in my body and spirit, I heard the words to a song _Peace Like a River. Peacefulness was flooding over my soul this morning, as I thought about this new day.
We can expect unique and personal blessings from God.
Each WEEK:
I share a blessing from my personal life.
Today’s Topic: The Blessing of Peacefulness
Let’s begin with the joyful song that woke me up today! Listen NOW
Winter in western Pennsylvania can be a season for relaxing and spending time inside the house doing some things that we don’t have time to do in other seasons. I appreciate the winter season when I don’t have to be thinking about yard work or weeding my flower garden.
Winter can be a season to read some good books, listen to music, and appreciate the rest that we need to have every day for our own wellness.
__Did you know, Winter can be a blessing even though it is a time of cold winds, snow squalls, dreary grey days. Look for the positive moments. Jot them down in a notebook so you can reflect on the goodness of this day. Perhaps this evening you will look at your notes, and realize the peacefulness that you experienced. Stay focused on being grateful and speak positive words to find solace. We have what we say we have. Our words determine the atmosphere of our home, and our conversations with others. Every thoughtful word nourishes you as you speak with others, if they are filled with peacefulness.
How about doing something different today, such as:
_ Light a candle. The delicate aroma will fill the room with a scent that is pleasing.
_I like to burn an incense stick, too. How about getting Frankincense ? Do you know this is the ONLY scent that is described in the Bible? Frankincense can be a source of healing in the atmosphere of your home.
_Do you have a hobby that could be relaxing? For me, it is knitting. I’m working on a beautiful scarf using yarns from Italy and Austria. Soon, that scarf will keep me warm when I go outside.
Yesterday, I enjoyed a new candle in my library as I relaxed in a comfortable chair and listened to a book. I receive books from the National Library Services. They are sent to me through the mail. This is a free service that is available to anyone who has a reading challenge and can’t read without the aid of recordings.
I also can read books with my EYES, by using a closed circuit television, that magnifies the text. I have 3 different CCTV’s for different purposes in my office, library, and fiber studio. I like to read aloud and I like to stand to read because it is great for our body and circulation.
My Love for Winter has endured through the many decades of my life.
In my books, winter is often a theme of my poems and non-fiction stories.
After I retired in 2008, due to sudden sight loss, I appreciated the winter days and the peacefulness of reading even more.
I am a Watchman in my little spot of Heaven on earth in Western Pennsylvania.
I live in the Village of Wurtemburg, where I watch and pray for all travel on Route 488 from Ellwood City, to Portersville, Pennsylvania.
In addition, I also watch and pray for all who are traveling between Rt. 488 to Route 288 – via The River Road.
May your journey today be
blessed with safety and joy as you speed along the roads.
I am praying for you!
___My Bible Verse: Psalm 4:8 (NIV)
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.
_My Prayer:
Lord, I thank you for this gift of peacefulness that is with me day and night. Thank you for a good nights sleep, and the joy of waking up with a song in my heart. Thank you that you give us assurance every morning that this new day will be a blessing even in the coldness of a winter’s day. Amen.
My Daily Action Plan:
_ I will appreciate the rest that winter provides for me.
_I will use words that are positive and healing today.
_I will see the beauty of each new day and pause to say “Thank You!”
Your comments and prayers inspire the best in me.
Let me know if this message is helpful to you.
Thank you for sharing my Sunday Blessings posts with others to encourage them and share the Love of Jesus.

I completed training for Personal Adjustment to Blindness, It took two years of training and lots of hard work to learn to read and write using adaptive technologies for the blind. Ad the months went by, God was showing me that my creative life would continue,, but in some new ways.
I began to write again.
