New Work this week_Mixed Media Painting_4 x 6 “
Acrylics on STRATHMORE Paper.

 

 

 

This  colorful artwork is  from my year-long work on  STRATHMORE post cards as my canvas.

During 2024, I make one  artwork on a Post Card each day.
I also write a poem each day that I place on the back of the post card next to the address where the post card will be sent.
I send out SIX original, one-of-a-kind post cards each week, to a fellow writer/artist friend in Ada, Michigan.

Carol Farnsworth  sends six post cards a week, with art and poetry, to me.

At the end of this year, we will begin to compile a book of poetry and art. Yes, it is an enormous project to tackled by two blind women! However, we are now in the final third of the mailing process of our cards. Things are going well, and we are dedicated to this unique project.

Carol and I do six a week, taking Sunday off as a rest day.

Blessings are Always

in my NEWS!

“Blessings”  arrive in my mail box, via  telephone, or  through my computer.

Some are financial blessings that I did not know were coming to me.

I receive awards and sales, for my books, writings and artworks.

Some days I am invited out to lunch, or simply to go for a walk in the park with a friend.

Blessings come to us all the time if we are open to them.

    It’s hard to believe we are so far into the year, with so many poems and artworks completed at this time. And, I thought it was hard to write a poem a day every April for National Poetry Month. I still find it hard to grasp how much writing and painting we have done this year. We are both scheduled to be presenters on October 18 for the PA Council of the Arts Conference. We will be talking about how we have continued to make visual, adaptations, and changes in our art making since sight loss. EAch day bring some small joy!
