“Wheel” is a poem that I wrote in 1991.
It is a metaphor for the life I was living for many years as I went through the years of academic studies. I also give directions for writing a poem for yourself. Give it a try. I think you will have fun.

I’ve often heard people say,
“Some day my ship will come in.”
I think about that comment and ask,
“Well, how many ships have you set out?”
That will determine how many ships you have coming back to you.
