Garden Songs ~ Pennsylvania fall – Tanka

I wrote this poem on a warm afternoon near the end of November. I was walking the dogs outside wearing only a t-shirt and jeans. The sun was warm and the day was brighter than I expected it to be as it moved westward across the sky above us. I wanted to capture the feeling I had this afternoon so I chose to write a tanka poem to share my afternoon experience with you! Let me know what you think, ok?

I know you have some photographs that you like a lot. Right?
You can write a poem about a photograph.
It’s fun. In this short article I show you how I wrote a poem by looking at a photo of some food on a plate. The food was a gift to me, made in a friend’s kitchen.
