bulbs arrived in the mail<\/p>\n
cushioned with hoary moss<\/p>\n
dusty bulbs and dry Iris corms.<\/p>\n
Every single one will have a winter’s nap.<\/p>\n
Forever Susan Asiatic Lilies<\/p>\n
glorious manifestations beside<\/p>\n
Hyacinth mix of purple and pink.<\/p>\n
I imagine them thriving next spring.<\/p>\n
Just think, How does Mother Nature<\/p>\n
keep bulbs in frozen soil? I know she’s<\/p>\n
laughing at winter snowstorms.<\/p>\n
My pipe dream endures for<\/p>\n
Nature has perfect timing in her<\/p>\n
ornate drawers of dreams-come-true.<\/p>\n
Purple Dusky Challengers with black beards<\/p>\n
quivering and tall.<\/p>\n
Representative ambassadors<\/p>\n
singing life-force.<\/p>\n
That is who you are<\/p>\n
underground secrets of winter.<\/p>\n
Victorious prize-winners<\/p>\n
warbles in secretive clusters.<\/p>\n
Xerophytic, ferns asleep in rocks and rubble<\/p>\n
yearnings by washed-out pathways when it’s<\/p>\n
zero degrees in the sunshine.<\/p>\n
