Therefore, we are co-creators in the process of the poem and it\u2019s reading. This notion is very exciting to me!<\/p>\n<p>If \u00a0you choose similar nouns for lines 1 and 7 it will be a SYNONYM Diamante Poem.<\/p>\n<p>If you choose opposing Nouns for lines 1 and 7 it will be an ANTONYM Diamante Poem.<\/p>\n<p>(My example is an antonym poem \u2013 my subjects are \u201cFlower\u201d and \u201cvines.\u201d As you move through the 7 lines of my Diamante poem, you will see that it moves from summer (flower) to winter (leaves).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Here is the PATTERN for the Diamante Poem<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 1:<\/strong>\u00a0 One Noun (your subject is introduced in Line 1)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 2:<\/strong> Two DESCRIBING \u00a0words (Adjectives) about Line 1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 3:\u00a0<\/strong> Three DOING words (Verbs) about Line 1<\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 4:<\/strong> A short phrase about Line 1 AND a short phrase about Line 7<\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 5:<\/strong> Three DOING words (verbs) \u00a0about Line 7<\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 6:<\/strong> Two DESCRIBING words (Adjectives) about Line 7<\/p>\n<p><strong>Line 7:<\/strong> One Noun (this is the final subject of the poem)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">***<\/p>\n<p>As instructed in Writing Assignment #14, you will use your short essay to write this poem.
