Preparations for a Virtual Spring Salad<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

I gather ingredients beneath snow patches<\/p>\n

in my poker-faced winter garden<\/p>\n

frozen nouns and crystalized verbs that<\/p>\n

crunch beneath my purple boots<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The large blue bowl will hold<\/p>\n

a plentiful, colorful virtual spring salad<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I slice crisp winter onions<\/p>\n

mix with fresh-washed adjectives<\/p>\n

combine good-looking spinach with<\/p>\n

roasted red peppers and water chestnuts<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mix verdant green-leaf lettuce<\/p>\n

with active verbs:<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

must, should, ought to, have to,<\/p>\n

shred, rip, and tear tender leaves<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cubed tofu fried with whole walnuts<\/p>\n

sizzled in extra-virgin olive oil<\/p>\n

add some piquant words. Are you hungry yet?!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sliced organic carrots enhance juicy tomato wedges.<\/p>\n

Drizzle some succulent sentences over our poetic salad.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Cauliflower florets provide contrast between stanzas.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I plucked fresh wild mushrooms this morning<\/p>\n

included a pinch of fresh oregano and parsley<\/p>\n

added a smidgeon of sea salt and black pepper punctuation<\/p>\n

buttered croutons added texture to end-rhymes<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sprinkled lightly with white wine vinegar<\/p>\n

enhanced with pimento-stuffed green olives.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

For the enjoyment of my cybernetic friends.<\/p>\n

I offer my virtual spring salad –<\/p>\n

the poetry of life tossed in a blue bowl<\/p>\n
