Soul food<\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

What comes to mind when I mention soul-food?<\/span><\/p>\n

Is it something beige and boring, like hummus?<\/span><\/p>\n

Maybe the taste of a fresh-baked buttered bun?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Blended with olive oil, tahini, lemon juice, and garlic on a bun?<\/span><\/p>\n

A Middle-eastern delight of exotic soul-food<\/span><\/p>\n

My go-to food is chickpeas ground into hummus.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I am convinced the best treat on earth is homemade hummus<\/span><\/p>\n

Sprinkle in pine nuts or chili peppers and spread on a sesame seed bun<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s an easy-to-make healthy, nutritious soul-food<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

My favorite soul-food is a glob of hummus with black olives plopped on a fresh poppy-seed bun.<\/span><\/p>\n

How\u00a0\u00a0to Write This Poem?<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n

Tritina Poem<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Tritina has 3, 3-line stanzas. (9 lines, plus an envoy line)<\/p>\n

Tritina begins by selecting\u00a0 3 words. Each will be used \u00a0for line endings.<\/p>\n

\u00a0In this \u00a0poem, I chose 3 words:<\/h3>\n

soul-food – hummus – bun<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

Tritina ends with a FINAL LINE and\u00a0 that line contains all 3 of your previously selected words.<\/p>\n

Keep those words in your final line and in the same order\u00a0 as when you selected them.<\/p>\n

The pattern looks like this<\/p>\n

Lines 1 2 3\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 End words of lines in first tercet.<\/p>\n

Lines 2 3 1\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2013 End words of lines in third tercet.<\/p>\n

The ENVOY\u00a0\u00a0Line (1 2 3)\u00a0 \u2013 All 3 of your words are in the final line.<\/p>\n

GOOD TO KNOW:<\/p>\n

Row 10 of the Tritina is the final line.<\/p>\n

It can also be called an Envoi or envoy<\/strong>\u00a0in\u00a0poetry.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This line is used to describe: a short stanza at the end of a poem<\/strong>\u00a0such as ballad, used either to address an imagined or actual person or to comment on the preceding body of the\u00a0poem<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
