\u00a0\u201cClarity is power.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/em><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0~\u00a0 Anthony Robbins<\/span><\/em><\/strong><\/h1>\n

When the New Year arrived, I picked out my \u201cOne Word\u201d for 2021. For the 7th year in a row, the word arrived on time. For 2o21, my \u201cOne Word\u201d is Clarity.\u00a0 You can read about \u00a0my first thoughts on this year\u00a0\u00a0 Here.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

When a word comes to me, my first responsibility is to begin searching out the meaning of the term to understand what the word holds within its core. I have to unpack the meaning of the word by going to primary sources, as I do with everything I write. A WORD is a powerful force that I never take lightly.<\/span><\/p>\n

Take a look at the ROOT of this word – I was delighted to see what ELSE this word holds for me.<\/p>\n

Reading the explanation, below, \u00a0was like discovering \u00a0a basket full of gemstones – each one a new glorious and bright color, texture, and heft in my hand. Just look at all of the\u00a0 splendor and brightness this word holds for me. Knowing the full meaning and the origin of a word is well worth the effort\u00a0 to check it out.\u00a0 The history of my word \u00a0is a wonderful discovery!<\/p>\n

c. 1300,\u00a0<\/span>clarte, clerte<\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u201cbrightness, radiance; glory, splendor,\u201d from Old French\u00a0<\/span>clerte<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0<\/span>clartet<\/span><\/em>\u00a0(Modern French\u00a0<\/span>clart\u00e9)<\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u201cclarity, brightness,\u201d from Latin\u00a0<\/span>claritas<\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u201cbrightness, splendor,\u201d also, of sounds, \u201cclearness;\u201d figuratively \u201ccelebrity, renown, fame,\u201d from\u00a0<\/span>clarare<\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u201cmake clear,\u201d from\u00a0<\/span>clarus<\/span><\/em>\u00a0\u201cclear\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

I begin to imagine standing on the edge of a rock pool watching the water swirling around as it flows down stream. I live on the edge of the Connoquenessing Creek in The Village of Wurtemburg, in western PA. The sound of the flowing waters is music in the air in all seasons.<\/p>\n

Clearness or lucidity as to perception or understanding is my focus this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Knowing the ROOT and ORIGIN of a word is KEY to Finding MEANING.<\/span><\/p>\n

I am thinking of the clearness of pure water as I contemplate how clarity will change my inner life and my working environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0To begin my walk with Clarity, I took an in-depth look at my website. I held it up to the standard of clarity. What I saw was cluttered, indistinct, and random. I set to work on downsizing the website and blog immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our websites show who we are, what we care about, and our world view. With this firmly in mind, I started chopping away at the tangled mess to bring clarity to my cyber-world. \u201cLess is more, \u201cI kept in my mind as I expelled the clutter.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
