Today is the FOURTH DAY of CHRISTMASTIDE – 2020.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Here’s a QUESTION for YOU ~<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

In the song, what is the total\u00a0 number of gifts\u00a0 her true love gave \u00a0to her?<\/p>\n

This is the list of gifts – NOW, you do the math~<\/p>\n

  1. A partridge in a pear tree,<\/li>\n
  2. Two turtle doves,<\/li>\n
  3. Three french hens,<\/li>\n
  4. Four calling birds, (Today)<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Five gold rings,<\/li>\n
  6. Six geese a-laying<\/li>\n
  7. Seven swans a-swimming,<\/li>\n
  8. Eight maids a-milking,<\/li>\n
  9. Nine ladies dancing,<\/li>\n
  10. Ten lords a-leaping,<\/li>\n
  11. Eleven pipers piping,<\/li>\n
  12. Twelve drummers drumming<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    What is a CALLING BIRD?<\/span><\/h3>\n

    \u201cCalling birds\u201d are thought originally to have been colly, or collie, birds\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n

    Colly meant as black as coal (like collier, a coal miner, or colliery, a mine.<\/span><\/p>\n

    Colly birds would have been blackbirds<\/span><\/p>\n

    I will imagine \u00a0those FOUR BIRDS as CROWS – since crows are my FAVORITE BIRDS.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    According to Dr. Wilson of Sonoma State University,<\/p>\n

    There are two ways that people usually do this problem:<\/span><\/h3>\n
      \n
    1. The number of each type of gift<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. The number of gifts for each of the 12 days of Christmas<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
