I am working \u00a0each day on the revised and expanded version of my first book –<\/p>\n

<\/h2>\n

Concerti: Psalms for the Pilgrimage,<\/span> <\/em><\/h2>\n

<\/h2>\n

I begin to think about the work of transformation and renewal not only of the book manuscript, but of my life.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Last week, I celebrated my 77th birthday.<\/span><\/h2>\n

It was a joyous day with a visit from my sister and her husband, lunch with them in our favorite restaurant, and later in the day visits from \u00a0other family members.\u00a0 With each birthday, I think it is a time for transformative thoughts about our life.\u00a0\u00a0This is a good \u00a0time to look back on the past and consider how we might want to make changes to \u00a0expand, or alter the days ahead.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I think of each day as a new opportunity to transform and renew my life.\u00a0 I think it is wise to live each day as if I knew it was my final day on earth.\u00a0 During the day, I pause to think about why I am here, and what my mission is.\u00a0 We are all people who were created by our loving God. And the first chapter in Genesis lets us know our purpose:\u00a0 we were created to reflect God’s Glory.\u00a0 Knowing this makes a difference in how we live our days, and what we do throughout each day.\u00a0 We all are called for a purpose and have a place in this world – if you have not yet discovered your own purpose or calling, I can tell you all you have to do is<\/p>\n

ASK HIM!<\/span><\/h2>\n

<\/h3>\n

Do not conform<\/span>\u00a0to the pattern of this world,<\/span>\u00a0but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.<\/span>\u00a0Then you will be able to test and approve what God\u2019s will is<\/span>\u2014his good, pleasing<\/span>\u00a0and perfect will.<\/span>\u00a0 Romans 12:2<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Reformulated Prayer + God\u2019s Word<\/span><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

On peaceful summer days like this one<\/p>\n

I am resting quietly here in your shadow.<\/p>\n

Shaddai.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yes, it is true.<\/p>\n

I am singing a song for you today.<\/p>\n

I sing because you keep me safe and<\/p>\n

protect me from anything that would harm me.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Each day I hear news reports<\/p>\n

about a deadly virus<\/p>\n

thrust out into the world<\/p>\n

to trap and kill us.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

But I am not afraid because<\/p>\n

you protect me<\/p>\n

You are like the house wren<\/p>\n

crouched down into her nest<\/p>\n

in the hanging geranium plant<\/p>\n

on my porch.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You hide me in a secure place<\/p>\n

where no predator can snatch me away<\/p>\n

because you hold me tight.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

When I am singing<\/p>\n

you softly whisper to me \u2013<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t be afraid of the dark nights<\/p>\n

of contagious diseases<\/p>\n

or painful death from plagues.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

No matter how many bad reports you hear<\/p>\n

treacherous people or diseases cannot touch you<\/p>\n

because you are protected<\/p>\n

by me personally.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Look only at Me.<\/p>\n

See what I will do.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve already sent powerful angels who<\/p>\n

surround you and lift you up and away.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Angels are holding your hands,<\/p>\n

guiding you safely away from treacherous places.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pay no attention to anything that threatens you.<\/p>\n

I hear you call my name, and<\/p>\n

I never fail to come to deliver to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

El Shaddai!<\/p>\n

You gift me with a long life<\/p>\n

filled with satisfaction.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
