My poem for today is a poem inspired by a story from Greek Mythology that was written in the 4th Century BC.<\/span><\/h3>\n

Slowly, Suddenly: Remembering Persephone<\/p>\n

ripe for contemplation.<\/p>\n

the sun moves slowly<\/p>\n

to center sky<\/p>\n

stillness.<\/p>\n

I remember<\/p>\n

the springtime<\/p>\n

picking flowers<\/p>\n

things happen suddenly.<\/p>\n

I drift in random circles<\/p>\n

on the surface of quiet waters<\/p>\n

beneath clustered branches.<\/p>\n

the day can change suddenly<\/p>\n

no movement in the tangled leaves<\/p>\n

even birds seek shade today.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We danced through wild flowers<\/p>\n

suddenly<\/p>\n

we are invisible<\/p>\n

and grow old<\/p>\n

I shift forward<\/p>\n

undulating slowly<\/p>\n

to an old rhythm<\/p>\n

summer\u2019s sleep returns.<\/p>\n

Random things bring quick changes<\/p>\n

this evening is like<\/p>\n

the moment before my birth<\/p>\n

a full moon will rise this evening.<\/p>\n
