\u201cA Millennium Poem\u201d<\/span><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

While resting here in the warmth of the millennium year<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 glanced\u00a0 to my right this morning<\/p>\n

only to see that God has laid back his head<\/p>\n

and is having a roaring good laugh.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

From the beginning of this final year<\/p>\n

I wrote no resolutions and set no goals to reach.<\/p>\n

My journal is still blank – its bare pages<\/p>\n

have never been touched by my pen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I find that it\u2019s hard to get moving today<\/p>\n

my fingers hesitate and pause<\/p>\n

searching for the right words.<\/p>\n

I continued to search beyond\u00a0 the window to my right.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Fir branches swayed slightly and moved in circles<\/p>\n

there was not a bird in view on the sunlight boughs<\/p>\n

but I returned here again<\/p>\n

as I have invariably done.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Within this tranquil dimness<\/p>\n

I tilt my head forward<\/p>\n

listen to sounds of laughter.<\/p>\n

Here, in the\u00a0 tree where God sits.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n
