Easter Sunday Morning<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

early morning choir twitters and chirps<\/p>\n

from deep inside bushes and trees<\/p>\n

accompanied by low, long tones<\/p>\n

wheels turning against the pavement.<\/p>\n

hidden sun brightens the sky<\/p>\n

somewhere behind layers of grey mist<\/p>\n

softly darkening Norway \u00a0maple branches<\/p>\n

starkly naked springtime trees.<\/p>\n

I made no special plans for today<\/p>\n

no Easter bouquet or new lavender dress<\/p>\n

Instead, I recline on soft pillows<\/p>\n

write on journal pages.<\/p>\n

I listen and watch.<\/p>\n

A dark opening of a hillside tomb<\/p>\n

dances through my thoughts<\/p>\n

somewhere in the Eastern world<\/p>\n

old dreams continue.<\/p>\n

I ponder the meaning of this<\/p>\n

Resurrection morning.<\/p>\n
