I Write for the Pleasure of it –<\/h2>\n
This modest \u00a07-day series will introduce my readers to 7 different poets who have influenced my intellectual, creative\u00a0 and professional life as an academic scholar, author, lecturer, and visual artist.\u00a0 I present them for\u00a0 enjoyment because they each give \u00a0me so much pleasure.<\/p>\n
I first met\u00a0\u00a0Robert Bly \u00a0when I opened my mind to listen to\u00a0\u00a0his \u00a0thoughts as a freshman student in the BFA program at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. Robert Bly \u00a0taught me to look deep inside of me to find the poetry. Each poet stretched my imagination and challenged me to pursue a life of poetry.\u00a0 My journey with these poets began in 1985 when I entered the BFA program, and continues to this day.<\/p>\n
I’ve written quite a bit on Robert Bly’s poetry and I have done academic conference presentations on Robert Bly and his writings.\u00a0\u00a0In one \u00a0conference presentation, my \u00a0paper was \u00a0published in the book,<\/p>\n
The Sibling Society –<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\nThe Robert Bly Colloquium<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\nessays presented at the colloquial at Kent State University.\u00a0 Editor for this book is Terry White, from KSU.<\/p>\n

Enjoy your visit with one of my all-time favorite poets. Robert Bly is a translator as well as one of America’s best poets.<\/p>\n
A highlight of my career was when Robert Bly attended the colloquium\u00a0 when I was presenting. Later, when the book was published he comments that my presentation was one of his favorite essays in the book.\u00a0 My poetry library shelves have a nice collection of his books\u00a0 and translations.\u00a0\u00a0My collection of Robert Bly’s books\u00a0 is a \u00a0treasure that I cherish.<\/p>\n
