\"Visions_Lynda_Meditations\"<\/a>In the spring of 2014 – I exhibited my recent art work in a show called, “Vision and Revision” at two locations in Western Pennsylvania. First the show appeared at Merrick Art Gallery in New Brighton PA. and after a month-long run, it traveled to New Castle, PA. It was viewed by visitors to Jameson Hospital for nearly three months.<\/p>\n

\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0I \u00a0Was the creator and organizer of this remarkable exhibition. \u00a0\u00a0I wrote a few short essays and poems \u00a0that appeared beside my art works. I wanted the viewers to have some inside information on how the work was created and how I conceived of the pieces. \u00a0The show’s focus was to give the public some educational information on how \u00a0a blind artist can still do intricate and colorful art.<\/p>\n

I have no central vision, do not see any details, and my world is in shades of grays and I walk in a mist – I see nothing clearly except for the VISIONS I hold within my spirit.<\/p>\n

The following poem, “Adornmant,” was framed and on display beside one of my mixed-media fiber and bead works. “Adornment” was published this week in the “Magnets and Ladders Literary Magazine.”<\/p>\n

On languid September days<\/p>\n

I would like to wear<\/p>\n

colorful\u00a0 gaudy jewelry<\/p>\n

every single one<\/p>\n

at the same time.<\/p>\n

Adornments are worn to enhance autumn days.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019d put the gems on in layers,<\/p>\n

an ancient \u00a0warrior preparing for battle.<\/p>\n

Blue Topaz rings, one on each finger.<\/p>\n

My arms, encircled with ornaments.<\/p>\n

Protected by brilliant stones-<\/p>\n

faceted cherry quartz, deep green turquoise chunks,<\/p>\n

nuggets of Baltic amber in different colors,<\/p>\n

jet black polished stones, \u00a0and waxy yellow opals.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019ll wear a periwinkle blue dancing skirt.<\/p>\n

a flowing \u00a0chiffon\u00a0 jacket .<\/p>\n

I am a flamboyuant coat-of-armor<\/p>\n

that covers voluptuous, full breasts<\/p>\n

like a bishop\u2019s\u00a0 gold encrusted shawl.<\/p>\n

My holy, rare, mother-of-pearl talisman<\/p>\n

adorns my royal, goddess \u00a0chest.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I slip my perfumed feet into soft sky blue sandals,<\/p>\n

promenade around the spacious room,<\/p>\n

in ever widening circles,<\/p>\n

among the evening shadows,<\/p>\n

under luminescent \u00a0spheres<\/p>\n

turning high above us.<\/p>\n
