What does the word, SUNshine,<\/h3>\n

mean to YOU?<\/h3>\n

For me, it means that I intend to write<\/h3>\n

articles that<\/h3>\n

SHINE BRIGHT on a variety of topics.<\/h3>\n

Today – I am celebrating\u00a0 NatureWriting.<\/em><\/h2>\n

A Literary Magazine, edited by Ron Harton.<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

This is a literary magazine that arrives in my in-box. I am always delighted to see each new issue. the photography is stunning;\u00a0 the writing is sensitive and thoughtful.<\/p>\n

The magazine is Nature-themed.\u00a0 You will love it, too!<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the mornings when I make a cup of hot coffee and I go to my E-mail box, I occasionally find a message from editors.\u00a0 \u00a0I am always delighted when I get a message from Ron Harton, for it usually means he plans to publish one of my poems or essays.\u00a0 Recently, his note told me that he plans to publish 2 of my poems in June.<\/p>\n

“After an All-Night Rain,”<\/em> published on June 8.<\/h3>\n

I wrote “After an All-Night Rain,”\u00a0 in memory of my mother, Esther Kirker McKinney (1920 – 2007).<\/h3>\n

We walked together in the early mornings, every day, for years. We were best friends. Time alone with her was a sacred pleasure and a gift from God.<\/p>\n

Our 3-mile trek on rural country\u00a0 roads made a circle along a creek and through the woods.\u00a0 On our walks together we talked about daily life, our faith in God, and ordinary mundane things we enjoyed together.\u00a0 I share\u00a0fragments of memories I have of those many years of walking together with my mother. And, I am aware of the ancestors who walked those roads long before we did – and I think about how I walk over the\u00a0 layers of memories.\u00a0 I can feel my mother cheering me on to complete my own\u00a0 life-journey some days. Do you ever feel these soft whispers, too?<\/p>\n

The natural world of my own spot-of-heaven-on-earth is western Pennsylvania.<\/p>\n

Many of my reflections come from my feelings for the people and places where I live.<\/p>\n

Wherever you are today, there is a natural world around you that is stunning. Find it!<\/p>\n

\u00a0All of Nature is for our good pleasure.<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n
