Many editors want a bio that is 100 words or less.<\/p>\n<p>Unless an editor wants a purely academic bio, I really limit my bio to the little nuances in life that turn me on.<\/p>\n<p>Be creative. Give your bio a human touch. The editor wants to know who you are as a person, What do you think about? What do you love?\u00a0 What do you want others to know about the world you create in your writing?<\/p>\n<p>When necessary, you can list a long account of\u00a0your hard-earned academic credentials and achievements. But, I have found that, typically, editors want to know\u00a0 more\u00a0 about core beliefs and world view and how that all affects our writing life.<\/p>\n<p>What is it that\u00a0 makes you want to write?<\/p>\n<p>What\u00a0 is inside of you\u00a0 your ordinary, mundane and every-day life?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em><strong>EXAMPLE 1 &#8211; The SHORT BIO<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<h3><em><strong>83 words about the Poet:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em><\/h3>\n<p>Lynda McKinney Lambert is a retired professor of fine arts and humanities.
