I wrote this poem 9 years after my last trip to Prague, Czech Republic.<\/h4>\n

The Moldau<\/h2>\n

In Which I Dream of Vitava<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Always in mid-summer dreams, I amble<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Beside warm surging waters in a distant land where the<\/p>\n

City of Spires<\/em> notices my soul\u2019s passage<\/p>\n

Drifting, light-rippling movements<\/p>\n

Evoke the flow of the Moldau River<\/p>\n

From its source in the forests of Bohemia<\/p>\n

Gliding, twisting, turning, singing<\/p>\n

Homeland legends return in tact<\/p>\n

I\u2019m drawn into patriotic emotions<\/p>\n

Juxtaposed over a rural landscape<\/p>\n

Kept in rhythm by a recurring melody<\/p>\n

Love of Homeland splashes from two<\/p>\n

Mountain springs; one warm, one cold<\/p>\n

Now joined, become a mighty tributary<\/p>\n

Orchestrated musings of white water days<\/p>\n

Postcards from Prague cannot contain it as I<\/p>\n

Quietly I sip Czech coffee at a street caf\u00e9<\/p>\n

Regal hymns flood my thoughts<\/p>\n

Smetana\u2019s symphonic poems<\/p>\n

Telling stories like a recurring theme, he<\/p>\n

Urges the morning to break into dissonance!<\/p>\n

Vigorous second movement with a horn melody<\/p>\n

Woke up the dreamers bathed in the morning light<\/p>\n

X Is always a ghost-note the Moldau sings in between<\/p>\n

Yesterday or tomorrow, where the final two-note chord<\/p>\n

Zig-zagged away from the gentle arpeggio of dawn.<\/p>\n

***<\/strong><\/p>\n

Inspired by Vitava, my favorite symphony by Smetana, Czech composer.<\/p>\n

She authored the book, Concerti: Psalms for the Pilgrimage, Kota Press. It features poetry and creative non-fiction essays she wrote during her summers while living in Salzburg, Austria where she taught for many years.<\/p>\n

Lynda McKinney lost most of her sight in 2007 due to Ischemic Optic Neuropathy. She creates her art work and writing projects via the use of technologies for the blind.<\/small><\/p>\n

Good Morning from the Village of Wurtemburg, PA!<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n

I have very exciting news to share today. I woke up to learn that my new book is now up and available to the public.<\/div>\n
Many of you know that after I lost my sight in 2007, it was almost 2 years before I could use a computer again. I had lots of rehabilitation training that enabled me to be on-line again, and to celebrate that, I started to write a blog: www.lyndalambert.com<\/a><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
As the years went by, I kept on writing, and writing, and writing. I started sending out my poems and creative non-fiction articles and stories to various publications. Last year, I had over 70 pieces of my work published.<\/span><\/div>\n
Also, last year I decided that I would begin to go over my 7 years of stories and begin to compile them into a book. <\/span><\/div>\n
TODAY, my dream has become my REALITY.<\/div>\n

I worked with DLD Books in Denver, Colorado since\u00a0 early last fall and today the book is now available as an e-book, Kindle, and print book. It will become available in other ways in the weeks ahead, too.<\/span><\/div>\n
