I pray for special requests that come to me, day\u00a0 or night.<\/p>\n<p>I think this is the most important message I have ever shared on this blog, which I&#8217;ve been writing since December 2009.\u00a0 I&#8217;ve written\u00a0 and published over 800 posts since that first one.\u00a0 If I had to choose just one article out of them all, this one is the most important.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0You must be asking, WHY!<\/h4>\n<p>It is because YOU are going to have some situations. or emergencies in your life that will impact you and send you into a tailspin of disappointment, fear, or uncertainty.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">This is often referred to as an<\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8211; Emergency &#8211;<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>It&#8217;s inevitable.\u00a0 On this journey of life, we will encounter emergencies.\u00a0 It is guaranteed that YOU and I will face an emergency that leaves us stunned, surprised, confused, disoriented, fearful, distraught. But the good news is that we do not need to respond to any emergency in any of those ways.\u00a0 Instead, we can LOOK UP\u00a0 to our God and we can pray and speak words of His that will bring a Divine Reversal to all emergencies.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Consider your own experiences when an EMERGENCY\u00a0 suddenly disrupted\u00a0 your day.<\/h3>\n<p>As a wife and mother of five children, over the years there were many emergencies in our family.<\/p>\n<p>I know what it is like to take a sudden trip to the hospital emergency room due to accidents and injuries; or a sickness\u00a0 that threatened our life.\u00a0 How about all of the doors that slammed shut; unexpected deaths; burdens that no one could carry&#8230;and much more. I&#8217;ve been rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance with critical injuries, and I&#8217;ve accompanied many other family members who needed urgent care due to an emergency.<\/p>\n<p>How do we handle it all, when it seems the bottom has fallen\u00a0 out of life?<\/p>\n<h3>_<\/h3>\n<h3>Scripture<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>#1:\u00a0 Hebrews 11:1<\/p>\n<p>Faith is the substance of things hoped for<\/p>\n<p>evidence of things not seen.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>As a Christian author and artist, my first thought in every emergency is to PRAY and READ God&#8217;s WORD.<\/p>\n<p>But what if you do not know how to do this?<\/p>\n<p>When you feel unglued and helpless, always turn towards God, who\u00a0 will be there to extend a helping hand to you regardless of the emergency you have encountered.\u00a0 He is the only one who can help you.<\/p>\n<p>Pray the WORD.\u00a0 \u00a0Read God&#8217;s WORD to HIM, as you PRAY when an emergency comes to you in any situation.<\/p>\n<p>This past week , I received a call to pray for a family member\u00a0 who was\u00a0 in critical condition in a Pittsburgh hospital, as I\u00a0 was writing\u00a0 this post.\u00a0 Immediately, I prayed with the person who called to tell me of this emergency.\u00a0 After I hung up the phone, I called two other places where I know there are prayer warriors on duty, day and night.\u00a0 I called a long-time friend who is in charge of the prayer line at her church.\u00a0 Next, I called<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Cornerstone Television&#8217;s Prayer line<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>888-665-4492<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>I prayed with DIANA, one of their prayer warriors.<\/p>\n<p>We prayed together for the man in the emergency and his family.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, I sent out a request to several other folks, with instructions to READ PSALM 91 out loud to the man who is in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p>While he cannot respond, his spirit is alive and awake.\u00a0 His spirit can hear our prayers, and his spirit can respond to this scripture that he will hear, by faith, in his spirit.\u00a0 It is Psalm 91.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind, that at all times, our spirit can receive a message even when our body is no longer capable of responding!\u00a0 Even when the brain is no longer engaged, the spirit is eternal and the Holy Spirit\u00a0 is always AWAKE and able to listen and make corrections as per our prayers. Your prayers matter and can change the most difficult circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>As I write the final thought here tonight, it is Saturday.\u00a0 I received word this afternoon that life support has been suspended for our family member..\u00a0 No one in the family\u00a0 was expecting this emergency. Now, we pray for God to be present in the lives of his loved ones who will be grieving his passing.\u00a0 Thank God, we have a Living Hope.<\/p>\n<h3>BONUS:<\/h3>\n<p>You can pray for yourself, and shelter of the Most High<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-1\">will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.<sup class=\"footnote\" data-fn=\"#fen-NIV-15397a\" data-link=\"[&lt;a href=&quot;#fen-NIV-15397a&quot; title=&quot;See footnote a&quot;&gt;a&lt;\/a&gt;]\">[<a title=\"See footnote a\" class=\"versenum\">2\u00a0<\/sup>I will say of the <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span>, \u201cHe is my refuge and my fortress,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-2\">my God, in whom I trust.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NIV-15399\" class=\"text Ps-91-3\"><sup class=\"versenum\">3\u00a0<\/sup>Surely he will save you<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-3\">from the fowler\u2019s snare<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-3\">and from the deadly pestilence.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15400\" class=\"text Ps-91-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">4\u00a0<\/sup>He will cover you with his feathers,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-4\">and under his wings you will find refuge;<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-4\">his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15401\" class=\"text Ps-91-5\"><sup class=\"versenum\">5\u00a0<\/sup>You will not fear the terror of night,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-5\">nor the arrow that flies by day,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15402\" class=\"text Ps-91-6\"><sup class=\"versenum\">6\u00a0<\/sup>nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-6\">nor the plague that destroys at midday.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15403\" class=\"text Ps-91-7\"><sup class=\"versenum\">7\u00a0<\/sup>A thousand may fall at your side,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-7\">ten thousand at your right hand,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-7\">but it will not come near you.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15404\" class=\"text Ps-91-8\"><sup class=\"versenum\">8\u00a0<\/sup>You will only observe with your eyes<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-8\">and see the punishment of the wicked.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NIV-15405\" class=\"text Ps-91-9\"><sup class=\"versenum\">9\u00a0<\/sup>If you say, \u201cThe <span class=\"small-caps\">Lord<\/span> is my refuge,\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-9\">and you make the Most High your dwelling,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15406\" class=\"text Ps-91-10\"><sup class=\"versenum\">10\u00a0<\/sup>no harm will overtake you,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-10\">no disaster will come near your tent.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15407\" class=\"text Ps-91-11\"><sup class=\"versenum\">11\u00a0<\/sup>For he will command his angels concerning you<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-11\">to guard you in all your ways;<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15408\" class=\"text Ps-91-12\"><sup class=\"versenum\">12\u00a0<\/sup>they will lift you up in their hands,<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-12\">so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15409\" class=\"text Ps-91-13\"><sup class=\"versenum\">13\u00a0<\/sup>You will tread on the lion and the cobra;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-13\">you will trample the great lion and the serpent.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"poetry top-05\">\n<p class=\"line\"><span id=\"en-NIV-15410\" class=\"text Ps-91-14\"><sup class=\"versenum\">14\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cBecause he<sup him;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-14\">I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15411\" class=\"text Ps-91-15\"><sup class=\"versenum\">15\u00a0<\/sup>He will call on me, and I will answer him;<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-15\">I will be with him in trouble,<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Ps-91-15\">I will deliver him and honor him.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"en-NIV-15412\" class=\"text Ps-91-16\"><sup class=\"versenum\">16\u00a0<\/sup>With long life I will satisfy him<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=\"indent-1\"><span class=\"indent-1-breaks\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"text Lynda\u00a0 is\u00a0 a published author of non-fiction and poetry. She holds 3 degrees, BFA in Painting;\u00a0 MA in English, MFA in Painting.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>Lynda says:<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I created exciting courses across the disciplines \u2013 Art \u2013<\/em><br \/>\n<em>English\u00a0 Literature \u2013 Humanities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>My courses were taught on campus during the spring and fall semesters.\u00a0 Each summer, I taught in Salzburg, Austria for a month of travel and studies.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>My passions in academia are poetry and fine art.\u00a0 I author books and I create\u00a0 fine art in several mediums \u2013 Painting\u00a0 and\u00a0 Fiber Art.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>How I Found HOPE in Unexpected Changes:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>I discovered a new life after sudden sight loss.
