Each Sunday, I share a blessing.<\/h3>\n
\n

Today begins\u00a0 the second week of Advent.<\/h3>\n

Around the world, Christians\u00a0 will Light the second\u00a0 candle\u00a0 on the Advent Wreath.<\/p>\n

It is purple.<\/p>\n

This candle represents the peace that comes from God and from Jesus, who is called the “Prince of Peace”. It also signifies the hope that Christ will bring peace to a troubled world.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Today’s Blessing is Reading.<\/strong><\/h3>\n

I am blessed to be a READER.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<\/header>\n<\/div>\n
\n
\n

What do I prefer to read?<\/p>\n

I\u00a0 \u00a0read poetry\u00a0 and thoughtful\u00a0 personal essays.\u00a0 The most precious book in my library is the Bible.\u00a0 My favorite version is the King James edition.\u00a0 \u00a0The Bible that I read belonged to my Mother.\u00a0 Her Bible was always on the kitchen table in the mornings, and she spent the first hour of every day reading this book.\u00a0 I have several other versions\u00a0 of the Bible in different editions but my favorite is my Mother’s .\u00a0 My fondest memories of childhood are the Saturday mornings when she took me with her to the public library in our town, Ellwood City, PA.\u00a0\u00a0While I am reading the Bible,\u00a0 \u00a0I\u00a0 like to read aloud.<\/p>\n

\u00a0I\u00a0 \u00a0am\u00a0 aware of\u00a0 a supernatural presence in the\u00a0 fleeting moments\u00a0 of life.<\/p>\n

As I open my Bible and begin to read, I enter into God’s PEACE.\u00a0 God meets me\u00a0 there, in His Word.<\/p>\n

READING the Bible, is the\u00a0 PLACE of\u00a0 Deep PEACE\u00a0 where God speaks to us.\u00a0 The Bible is\u00a0 the\u00a0 living WORD of GOD.<\/p>\n

Be\u00a0 Still.\u00a0 Listen.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

It is refreshing to pause, and glance out the window.<\/p>\n

Sometimes, I take a late autumn walk in the rain.<\/p>\n

Listen to sounds of birds and insects.<\/p>\n

As I write in my office, I can often hear\u00a0 the rushing\u00a0 water of the creek just beyond\u00a0 the meadow.<\/p>\n

I remember that\u00a0 nature is celebrating the glory of God.<\/p>\n

We can\u00a0 also listen to God’s voice\u00a0 in his creations.\u00a0 His love is everlasting. Even the rocks sing with the Joy of God’s presence.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I am blessed with the awareness\u00a0 of God’s calling on my life from my earliest years.<\/p>\n

I asked Jesus into my life when I was 15 years old.\u00a0 I am now 82, and I love to share God’s blessings\u00a0 with others.<\/p>\n

The longer I live, the more I discover about God and his plan for our lives.<\/p>\n

We all have a calling from God but, sometimes we don’t realize or recognize it for many years.<\/p>\n

I recognize those moments of discovery\u00a0 in my life journey.<\/p>\n

God has gifted each of us\u00a0 with something that is unique and personal.<\/strong><\/h4>\n

All we need to do is ASK Him to\u00a0 SHOW\u00a0 us the gift and plan he has for us. It’s an intimate\u00a0 and perfect gift that will fit us individually.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
