While my father tended to his vegetables, I was busy planting flowers and seeds along the edges of his garden, and other places on our property. I bring this love of tending and nature to my poetry.

About the poetry:

Japanese poetic forms seem to me as a perfect way to celebrate the beauty, elegance, and livingness of nature. Because these poems are short, I aim to capture the essence of the natural world where we live.

I love the spareness of the poems because it compels me to be clear as I describe personal events, private places, movements, and complexities of nature. I capture beauty and livingness as only a visual artist could do. Each poem is a work of art.

About the book’s title:

I discovered this phrase in a little book, Come Away My Beloved, by Frances Roberts.See it here. It is in a little book of private meditations. The book was gifted to me in 1973, and I still read it regularly for inspiration.

The focus of my work:

*passage of time,

*nature of God’s creations

*landscape,

travel,

*celebration of life

*beauty of faith in God

Buy my book Here!

3 Reviews:

#1

Lynda McKinney Lambert’s new collection of 140 short poems, Each Day Holds Some Small Joy,” is an extension of Lynda as the artist and writer.
