The Poem:\u00a0 Dragon Fly<\/em><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

Winter dreams<\/p>\n

come to us<\/p>\n

in color-<\/p>\n

red-Velvet<\/p>\n

blue-Green<\/p>\n

gold.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Memories merge<\/p>\n

with the ice<\/p>\n

and the heat<\/p>\n

of the cool<\/p>\n

winter sun.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We drift<\/p>\n

in the stream<\/p>\n

awake and alive<\/p>\n

only to learn<\/p>\n

that we can fly.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We lived a life<\/p>\n

below the water’s surface<\/p>\n

not knowing that<\/p>\n

we would emerge<\/p>\n

for a brief<\/p>\n

flight<\/p>\n

before we die.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Lynda McKinney Lambert writes and creates visual art from her vintage home in the Village of Wurtemburg, in Western Pennsylvania. She writes poetry and personal nonfiction essays. She currently has six published books available at all retail booksellers. Her artworks have appeared in international exhibitions, including Japan, New Guinea, Austria, and the United States.\u00a0 Lynda retired from her position as Professor of Fine Art and Humanities at Geneva College in 2008 due to profound sight loss. She invites readers to discover the subtle nuances\u00a0 and beauty of a physical and spiritual world as she weaves strands from history, nature, and her personal life experiences.<\/p>\n
