{"id":16916,"date":"2025-03-04T11:35:13","date_gmt":"2025-03-04T16:35:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.lyndalambert.com\/wordpress\/?p=16916"},"modified":"2025-09-14T16:53:52","modified_gmt":"2025-09-14T20:53:52","slug":"from-lyndas-journal-letter-of-acceptance-poem","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lyndalambert.com\/wordpress\/from-lyndas-journal-letter-of-acceptance-poem\/","title":{"rendered":"Lynda&#8217;s Journal &#8211;  Poem &#8211; Letter of Acceptance + Poem"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 class=\"font-inherit\"><em><strong>Lynda\u2019s Journal- Poem<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<h3 class=\"font-inherit\"><em><strong>~ Letter of Acceptance<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The Letter: March 3, 2025<\/h3>\n<blockquote><p>Dear Lynda:<\/p>\n<p>Hello, we hope you are ready for Spring, We are!<\/p>\n<p>This collection of poems is a breath of fresh air like Spring itself.\u00a0 This is a joyous collection of Nature poetry.<\/p>\n<p>We were overwhelmed by the sheer number of excellent submissions we received for this Spring issue.\u00a0 By far the most ever.\u00a0 Selecting the final poems for this issue was difficult.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations, your\u00a0 (Abecedarian)\u00a0 poem, <strong>Painting Pictures of Abstract Flower Gardens<\/strong>,\u00a0has\u00a0been accepted for the Spring print issue of The Avocet, a Journal of Nature Poetry.<\/p>\n<p>We know our readers will enjoy your work as much as we did.\u00a0\u00a0And\u00a0we think you will\u00a0be pleased and proud to be found upon the pages of this\u00a0issue.<\/p>\n<p>As a supporting subscriber, you will, of course, receive your subscription copy.<strong>\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>My\u00a0 Poem:<\/h3>\n<p>Painting pictures in Abstract Flower Gardens<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Archival alabaster pigments splash across<\/p>\n<p>bold yellow and brown Sunflowers beside<\/p>\n<p>clusters of Shasta Daisies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dusty Miller shimmers in moonlight<\/p>\n<p>Each night beside silver Liquorice<\/p>\n<p>fireworks exploding from center circle.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Golden clumps of \u00a0Japanese grass<\/p>\n<p>hold my attention momentarily as<\/p>\n<p>inky gestures are scratched over picture plane.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Unusually sensitive<\/p>\n<p>knowledge \u00a0comes slowly, in layers of<\/p>\n<p>lemon coral Sedum (mexicanum)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Mounds surround white \u00a0Geraniums<\/p>\n<p>nonetheless, I am faithful to the process<\/p>\n<p>overlooking distractions \u00a0of years-<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Passage of time sets the theme<\/p>\n<p>quietly moves around three<\/p>\n<p>red clots of shiny acrylic opalescence<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>spirals are reaching out<\/p>\n<p>themes of ice-blue Japanese grass<br \/>\nungulate beside a stony garden path<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Visions are vicariously distanced<\/p>\n<p>watercolor pages sliced apart with<\/p>\n<p>X-acto (#1 knife Couteau) for precision.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Years pass while I am painting abstract<\/p>\n<p>zones layered on archival papers and pristine canvases<\/p>\n<p>&#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Backstory:<\/p>\n<p>I am an artist who creates paintings and fiber art.\u00a0 Various flowers and plants in the garden show up in my poetry at times. In this poem I take the reader on a visual tour of my gardens, and present those images in living color as I combine cognition with touch and imagination. The ABECEDARIAN poetic form is one I use often in my poems.\u00a0 I think of this form as a structure that I am building on, as I am working with the English alphabet from beginning to final thought.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><em><strong>My Writing\u00a0 Action Plan:<\/strong><\/em><\/h2>\n<h4>God has a life-affirming VISION for every person.<\/h4>\n<h4>A unique personal plan is a foundational gift, given at birth.<\/h4>\n<h4>We can learn how to find our gifts.<\/h4>\n<p>Discover the DREAM for your creative spirit.<\/p>\n<p>Pray\u00a0 and ask God to reveal what he has planned for your\u00a0 life.<\/p>\n<p>I promise, He answers in a way that\u00a0 might knock your socks off!<\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>When the Holy Spirit gently whispers brilliant ideas and fresh discoveries, write it down.<\/h4>\n<h4>Make it plain.<\/h4>\n<p>Stop running in circles. and quit ending up in the same old place where you were before.<\/p>\n<p>God gives us a\u00a0 BRILLIANT PLAN that actually WORKS.<\/p>\n<p>Seek God\u2019s direction in all you do. She writes poetry and personal nonfiction essays. She currently has six published books available at all retail booksellers. Her artworks have appeared in international exhibitions, including Japan, New Guinea, Austria, and the United States.\u00a0 Lynda retired from her position as Professor of Fine Art and Humanities at Geneva College in 2008 due to profound sight loss.
