Nemean Lion – a 34-line Pi Poem<\/em><\/h6>\n

Nemean Lion<\/strong><\/em><\/h5>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brave Mastiff<\/p>\n

dog<\/p>\n

loves summer nights<\/p>\n

when<\/p>\n

Crystal Carousel<\/p>\n

gyrates in wide slow-moving circles<\/p>\n

sounds like<\/p>\n

lively festive music<\/p>\n

Leo the Lion<\/p>\n

looks stealthy<\/p>\n

like he is roaring<\/p>\n

eyes watching for stars in night sky\u00a0 .<\/p>\n

vertical movements slide up and down<\/p>\n

one stuffed and stitched Dachshund<\/p>\n

His stretched-out body quivering<\/p>\n

excited<\/p>\n

\u00a0grey squirrel<\/p>\n

memorable<\/p>\n

Leo dominates with a roar<\/p>\n

big feet dancing<\/p>\n

merry and contented<\/p>\n

Velvet<\/p>\n

brown Donkey kicks her feet<\/p>\n

leaps in the wind<\/p>\n

tall giraffe<\/p>\n

towering<\/p>\n

Ancient Greek Nemean Lion<\/p>\n

sets the mood<\/p>\n

Just right!<\/p>\n

lion\u2019s golden bronze\u00a0 body<\/p>\n

mussels firing on all syllables<\/p>\n

mythological<\/p>\n

legends<\/p>\n

Calling all dreamers. \u00a0Come aboard!<\/p>\n

Note:<\/em><\/p>\n

The Nemean lion was a monster in Greek mythology that lived at Nemea. Eventually, Heracles killed it. Because its golden fur was impervious to attack, it could not be killed with mortals’ weapons. Its claws were sharper than mortals’ swords and could cut through any strong armor.<\/em><\/p>\n

I was inspired by the Ancient Greek stories of the Nemean Lion. I gave him the pleasure of being on the Crystal Carousel with his friends. I gave him a better ending than the Greeks did.<\/p>\n
