Let\u2019s celebrate our creative life in February.<\/p>\n

I believe February is a beautiful winter \u00a0month for celebrating our gifts that bring inspiration and joy to the world.<\/h4>\n

I am thankful today, on the first day of February 2025, for my\u00a0 years of creating poetry, non-fiction stories, my six published books,\u00a0 and fine art that appears in\u00a0 private and public collections around the world. I have created work across disciplines (art and writing) for over fifty years.<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Like everyone else, there are obstacles and challenges that litter our path all the time. Yet, we continue our practice despite any of those obstacles, and we move on with passion and determination to not allow anything to stop our mission.\u00a0 My writing and my visual art are my mission\u00a0 and calling by God for my life. I dedicated my life to Jesus Christ when I was fifteen years old. He has taken me on an exciting and satisfying walk\u00a0 with him on the narrow path.<\/p>\n

Last year I produced over 350\u00a0 poems, and worked in both my painting and fiber studio on works that will appear in art exhibitions, and publications in anthologies, poetry journals, and books.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Yesterday, I dropped off four new paintings and one fiber work at a gallery in Butler, Pennsylvania.\u00a0 This show is \u201cAge of Aquarius\u201d and how perfect that is for this month, I thought.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

What joy I experienced as I walked \u00a0into the gallery again with my artworks.\u00a0 I had every reason to give up, eighteen years ago, when I lost my sight suddenly. But I decided to continue to be the person I am, and I worked at finding new ways to continue my art and writing mission. As I stood back and looked at my artworks there in the gallery, I was filled with joy to know that nothing could stop me from my life mission of making art and writing.<\/p>\n

I never gave up anything, but I adapted to my new circumstances, and God took it from there.\u00a0 He gave me the courage to adapt, and to believe that with his help, I would keep going on my journey in the world of fine art and literature.<\/p>\n

I celebrate my creative life in February, the heart of my favorite \u00a0season.<\/p>\n

Winter is the best time for contemplating our creative life.<\/p>\n

The Poem:<\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

Treacherous Dreams <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

aery\u00a0 asylum<\/p>\n

barely breathing\u00a0 in high altitude<\/p>\n

crevasses , wide \u00a0open cracks<\/p>\n

dangerous dreams \u00a0of \u00a0wintry mountaintops<\/p>\n

eerie heights, \u00a0glassy \u00a0ice<\/p>\n

fearful fatality of fissures, and fractures<\/p>\n

glacial gaps \u00a0unmarked, without a path<\/p>\n

helpless \u00a0in treacherous \u00a0dreams<\/p>\n

ice draped \u00a0vertical \u00a0rock walls<\/p>\n

jumping is not an option<\/p>\n

knowing \u00a0I am immovable<\/p>\n

leaping heart beating faster<\/p>\n

minutes are passing quickly<\/p>\n

no way down, no exits<\/p>\n

overture of advancing \u00a0thoughts<\/p>\n

plunging \u00a0into wild imaginations<\/p>\n

quarry \u00a0covered with curtains of ice<\/p>\n

reckless scapegoat<\/p>\n

seeking out impossible solutions<\/p>\n

treacherous heights above the clouds<\/p>\n

unable to focus in the mist<\/p>\n

victim of circumstances<\/p>\n

wreaking havoc \u00a0and my<\/p>\n

x-ray vision holds no hope<\/p>\n

yet, I keep looking for a safety<\/p>\n

zone<\/p>\n
