New\u00a0 flannel sheets kept\u00a0 us cheery<\/p>\n

During \u00a0brittle\u00a0 wind-swept nights<\/p>\n

Under your warm\u00a0 strong arms<\/p>\n

Lovers contentment<\/p>\n

Giggling \u00a0duo<\/p>\n

I wrote this new poem today because I was challenged by my fellow-poets in the Carousel Poets Group\u00a0 to write a poem that features a contrast between two things.\u00a0 We are a group of six ladies who meet one evening a month on a conference call.\u00a0 Each of us takes a turn to give the group a challenge or a prompt for the next month’s meeting.\u00a0 Over the year we have met this commitment, and created a really nice personal collection of poems this year.\u00a0 We will be meeting again, beginning in January to begin a new year of writing poems.<\/p>\n

I wrote about my bedroom today because his room seems to be \u00a0my place for remembering \u00a0special moments of my life from the time we moved here in 1967, to today. This room holds all the memories of a life together over these years with my husband\u00a0 Charles Robert (Bob) Lambert. (1941 – 2024)<\/p>\n
