What is a Cabochon?<\/p>\n

A cabochon, pronounced cab-uh-shon, is defined as a gemstone that has been shaped and polished rather than faceted<\/b>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The term comes from the French word \u201ccaboche,\u201d which means head or noggin. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Cabochon gemstones generally have a smooth, domed top surface and a flat base.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The top of the gemstone is highly polished and it reflects light.<\/p>\n
