I am honored to have six poems accepted for this new anthology, published by International Proverse (Hong Kong) Poetry Prize Anthology 2023.\u00a0 The theme for this anthology is “SPACE.”<\/p>\n

MINGLED VOICES 8<\/span> contains the work of fifty-seven poets.<\/p>\n

The one hundred plus poems were selected from those entered for the International Proverse Poetry Prize in 2023, the eighth such annual international competition administered from Hong Kong.<\/p>\n

The International Proverse Poetry Prize was jointly founded in 2016 by Dr Gillian Bickley and Dr Verner Bickley, MBE,<\/p>\n

My poem, (X)\u00a0 The Peaceful Prayer Garden,” \u00a0 received a Third Place AWARD.<\/p>\n

Each spring I anxiously await the publication of this remarkable international collection of poetry from around the world. I heartily recommend this new edition that I received from Amazon in yesterday’s mail.
\nI’ll be buying more copies for giving to friends, too.Mingled Voices 8 has a cover image designed by Sadie Kaye, that invites the reader to just sit for a little bit to take it all in before opening the book to begin the journey.. And, it is a journey that we take when we open the book and begin to read. The colors are restful shades of pale ivory and mid-tone tans and browns. The muted landscape image is one that makes you stop and really look, because it’s so inviting.I particularly like how the editors provide a comprehensive view of the poets in the sections, “Poet’s Biographies, ” and “Poet’s Notes.” This gives readers insight into the poet which is very helpful.Editors are Gillian Bickley and Verner Bickley,
\nThe theme for the eighth publication is “space.” Poets could interpret the meaning of that word to inspire their poems, or, they could choose a different path, if they desired. I think you will want to have the entire collection of 8 anthologies, after you receive this one. I also think this is a book you will purchase for gifting to those who love poetry and reading a variety of different poets all in one international collection.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The Backstory:<\/p>\n

I have poetry published\u00a0 in 6 of the 8 Anthologies published by Proverse (Hong Kong)<\/p>\n

I appreciate the editors and\u00a0 judges for the intensive work they do in selecting the various poems each year. I am deeply honored to represent the USA and my home state of Pennsylvania in this international collection of poets.<\/p>\n

In my winning poem this year, I am describing the years of work that my husband did in creating a Zen Meditation Garden at our home.<\/p>\n

My husband, Charles Robert (Bob) Lambert\u00a0 passed away in the early morning hours of\u00a0 January 18, 2024. I am delighted that in this way readers can learn about\u00a0 our mutual love for this peaceful prayer garden.<\/p>\n
