The Chilly Breeze<\/strong>
\n<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

The chilly breeze<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>In the chilly breeze, I<\/p>\n

Inspected colorful\u00a0 fan-shaped leaves<\/p>\n

That drifted to the stony ground.<\/p>\n

Profound blue-green shades<\/p>\n

turned to a golden yellow shower.<\/p>\n

We planted the Ginkgo\u00a0 tree<\/p>\n

on a shimmering summer afternoon<\/p>\n

when we were young.<\/p>\n

+I walk \u00a0alone on\u00a0 winding sidewalk<\/p>\n

beside our early \u00a0winter garden<\/p>\n

touch mahogany-red filagree leaves<\/p>\n

of patient Tamukeyama tree.<\/p>\n

December splashed cerise<\/p>\n

brushstrokes\u00a0 on each fragile leaf.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Japanese yellow forest grass<\/p>\n

Dropped \u00a0its slender leaves<\/p>\n

for winter\u2019s\u00a0 respite,<\/p>\n

Like taking a siesta in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

New growth \u00a0always begins \u00a0in spring.<\/p>\n

Here’s the Backstory:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

This poem was written recently when I was walking around outside in the yard and in the nearby woods at my home in western Pennsylvania. I write about nature as I am experiencing the various seasons.\u00a0 I also write about thoughts and memories that come to mind as I am observing and appreciating the outdoors.<\/p>\n
