Kay in the Kitchen <\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Kay is a Kitchen Queen<\/p>\n

feeling\u00a0 lost at the summit<\/p>\n

searching for car keys<\/p>\n

knee-deep in a kayak stream<\/p>\n

in\u00a0 southern Ohio.<\/p>\n

Kay sips\u00a0 K-cup coffee<\/p>\n

travels\u00a0 the Keystone\u00a0 kingdom<\/p>\n

her kettle boiling, lost in a Kafka story<\/p>\n

wildlife nights of frequent \u00a0flying.<\/p>\n

Kay is a record-keeper of kites in the wind.<\/p>\n

She gathers\u00a0 blue Kyanite stones.<\/p>\n

Knocks them all together.<\/p>\n

Keeps\u00a0 stitching\u00a0 her quilts<\/p>\n

like Kandinsky\u2019s gestural marks.<\/p>\n

Gathers mementos for a keepsake necklace<\/p>\n

knitting each kindness<\/p>\n

like a Keats poem.<\/p>\n

After that, I made a list beside those 22 words – something that matched each word.<\/p>\n

I re-arranged the lines to turn my\u00a0 list of 44 words into a Free-Form Poem. This is a\u00a0 method I use a lot in writing my poems.<\/p>\n
