I wrote\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Wheel<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0in my journal in a poetry course in 1991. We were studying the Quintain form in our classroom.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">When I wrote this poem, I was a student at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. I was working on an MA degree in English.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In the spring of 1991, I graduated from West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV, with an MFA in Painting.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It took another four years to complete the MA degree. Finally, I received that degree in the spring of 1994.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I think movement and travel were dominant themes because I worked on the MA in English degree from several countries and three states in the USA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Canada, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, and California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cWheel\u201d is significant because I worked several jobs and traveled extensively during those years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I imagined my car could drive without any directions to and from all the places where I worked and studied. This poem captures my state of mind in the early summer of 1991.<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<h1><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">*<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">More about the Quintain\/Cincaine\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">HERE.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Line 1, write one word, your subject \u2013 a noun.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">On line 2, describe your subject in 2 words \u2013 adjectives<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Line 3, put an action using 4 verbs<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Line 4 is a feeling or statement<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Line 5, a conclusion or restatement of the one-word subject.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A Q<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">uintain<\/span><\/em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0is often<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0called\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a\u00a0<\/span><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">quintet<\/span><\/em><\/strong><em><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This can be a poem or a stanza with five lines.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It can follow any meter or line
