Nature performs a ritual<\/p>\n

concerto of red cardinals<\/p>\n

and red-breasted robins<\/p>\n

bird-songs before dawn.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Daybreak.<\/p>\n

Early summer landscape<\/p>\n

permeated by a hot breeze<\/p>\n

a short gust<\/p>\n

sporadic puffs<\/p>\n

intense rain<\/p>\n

on yellow zinnias.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Japanese maple tree is<\/p>\n

A crimson waterfall<\/p>\n

of intricate cut leaves<\/p>\n

splashed onto stony ground<\/p>\n

conceals<\/p>\n

hidden mourning dove<\/p>\n

crouched silently in shadows<\/p>\n

spreads sturdy grey wings low<\/p>\n

shelters her nest<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Evening.<\/p>\n

Wild plants flourish<\/p>\n

like an invasion<\/p>\n

in a wind-swept vortex<\/p>\n

preoccupied with infiltration<\/p>\n

planting and sowing<\/p>\n

the nightly routine.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Virginia Creeper vines twist around<\/p>\n

sensitive wild pink peonies<\/p>\n

all-night showers emboldened<\/p>\n

the graceful bright green<\/p>\n

Lady ferns saturated by the routine<\/p>\n

concoction of a<\/p>\n

summer thunderstorm.<\/p>\n
