Lynda’s Art Story:<\/h3>\n

When I lost most of my sight suddenly in 2007, I thought I would never be able to make art again.\u00a0 I was wrong about that!\u00a0 With rehabilitation training and encouragement of friends and family, I discovered that the artist in me was still there and still able to make art again.\u00a0 I started to make pottery and attended classes at\u00a0Sweetwater Center for the Arts<\/a> (Sewickley, PA.)<\/p>\n

Soon,\u00a0 I was making POTTERY and in just FOUR YEARS I was able to\u00a0 have\u00a0 a one-person exhibition of my pottery\u00a0 and fiber art at the Merrick Art Gallery (<\/a>New Brighton, PA)\u00a0 in 2011.<\/p>\n

The attendance for my opening reception was remarkable and my work sold very quickly that night.<\/p>\n

In 2014, I had another exhibition of my pottery and fiber art and once again, the work sold to a large attendance of viewers that night.<\/p>\n

I also began entering my fiber art in the InSights exhibitions in Louisville, KY in 2014.<\/p>\n

My mixed-media fiber art and bead-working creations have been juried into\u00a0 8 of the InSights exhibitions at this time.<\/p>\n

My entry this year will be my 9th submission to the InSights23 jurors. I have been able to attend two of the exhibition opening receptions and awards banquet\u00a0 and it was wonderful to meet the other artists and see the artworks they create.<\/p>\n

I make my intricate artwork with the aid of an Acrobat CCTV.<\/p>\n

This year I have purchased the latest model since I wore out my old one by using it just about every day for the past fifteen years.<\/p>\n

I encourage you to enter your work in this show if you are visually impaired or blind.\u00a0 I have mailed my submission for 2023 and I hope you will too.<\/p>\n
