Dear Jack Frost,<\/p>\n

First,<\/p>\n

I want to say<\/p>\n

Thanks<\/p>\n

for planning to come<\/p>\n

we love to see you arrive each year<\/p>\n

but we<\/p>\n

don\u2019t like you to stay long<\/p>\n

just long enough for<\/p>\n

ice skating<\/p>\n

making snow angels<\/p>\n

building round snowmen and women.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

You\u2019re responsible for bad weather<\/p>\n

sinister mischief-maker<\/p>\n

coloring the foliage in autumn<\/p>\n

freezing cold<\/p>\n

frigid<\/p>\n

ice, snow, sleet<\/p>\n

fern-like patterns on frozen windows.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Old Man Winter<\/p>\n

nipping our fingertips<\/p>\n

and nose<\/p>\n

personification<\/p>\n

of wintertime<\/p>\n

icicles<\/p>\n

dripping down<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

slippery snow-covered sidewalks<\/p>\n

treacherous<\/p>\n

sliding<\/p>\n

maybe this is not a good time<\/p>\n

we can postpone your visit this year<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I\u2019d like you to know<\/p>\n

Jack Frost<\/p>\n

We will welcome you next winter.<\/p>\n

_A Letter to Jack Frost _<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Winter is my favorite season. Jack Frost is always associated with the frigid aspects of the season. My poetic letter addresses all of the complaints I hear from people who dislike winter.\u00a0 As I wrote the poem, I envisioned those negative statements with a bit of humor. I addressed each one in my letter to\u00a0 the fictional character who symbolizes\u00a0 the winter season.\u00a0 It was march when I wrote the poem. I used the Pi format because March is the month for a Pi poem. I live in Pennsylvania and the most brutal winter weather is in March. This is the month when local residents are complaining the loudest about winter weather.<\/p>\n
